Well done to Katie from Blacklaw Primary School in East Kilbride, National Competition Winner 2010!

Katie won an expenses-paid farm visit for her class and a trip to Silverburn Tesco for the launch of her healthy recipe card.
The prize included a visit from Tesco Home Economist, Donna Knight, who cooked a healthy breakfast for the class at school and gave a talk about how "Breakfast Benefits".

THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY!
Farmhouse Breakfast Week is an annual campaign run by the HGCA to emphasis the benefits of a healthy start to the day as part of a balanced diet and active lifestyle.
HGCA, the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) and Tesco Scotland have collaborated to produce a competition which encourages Scottish school children to think about the nutritional and physical benefits of a healthy breakfast. The theme for 2010 was "Breakfast Benefits".

Across Britain during Farmhouse Breakfast Week, farmers, food producers and retailers are encouraged to hold events to promote the idea of starting the day with a healthy breakfast as well as promoting home-grown regional produce.
RHET's Farmhouse Breakfast competition challenges children to think about and develop a Scottish breakfast recipe. In designing their recipe cards the children were asked to consider:
