Parking and Entry

Pre-booked school parties arriving by coach will be directed to the west end of the North car park.  RHET staff and volunteers will be on hand to meet your group and direct you to the West Gate entrance.

School parties arriving by public transport will arrive at the East Gate entrance and should advise RHET staff in advance, to ensure a staff member will be available to meet you.  There is a dedicated entrance for schools at the West Gate entrance where teachers will register their group and enter the showground.

Please note that you must bring with you the letter of confirmation with tear-off slip detailing the number of children and adults attending with your group.  This will help the RHET staff to process your entry as quickly as possible, so that you and your group can enjoy your day.

Disabled Access

The majority of public walkways in the showground are asphalt or concrete, as is the school car park and West Gate entrance.

Most public buildings have graded ramps or are accessible by wheelchair. The main exceptions are the Grandstand, where assistance may be required for the physically disabled, and the Exhibition Hall galleries.

Mobility scooters and wheelchairs may be hired for use during your visit and can be reserved in advance.  Please CLICK HERE to visit the Royal Highland Show website for details of this.

Toilet Facilities

Toilet facilities are available:

  1. near the west, east and north gates,
  2. Avenue Q (near the Children's Discovery Centre),
  3. junction of Avenue T and 4th Avenue,
  4. west foyer of the Lowland Hall,
  5. foyer of the Highland Hall,
  6. ground floor of the MacRobert Pavilion,

First Aid

First Aid points will be clearly marked on the map of the showground and there are regular foot patrols by St. Andrew's First Aid staff.  A copy of this map will be given to the leader of your booked school group and will also be available for download from this web page in the weeks prior to the show.

A First Aid and ambulance post is situated on Avenue L at the east end of the Main Ring.

Missing Children

If anyone becomes lost or separated from their party, the suggested meeting place is beside the Main Ring clock tower. Announcements for separated persons can only be made on the authority of the Police or Society officials, so direct approaches should not be made to the public address announcer.   If a child is lost contact a RHET representative, police officer or show steward.
