Charles Brown Trophy

Charles Brown always had a true passion for the outdoors, and was keen for all children to have the chance to learn about the countryside.

Pat Godsman, sister of Charles Brown has donated the Charles Brown Trophy and Trust in celebration of Charles’ life and his enthusiastic support of the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET).

The Charles Brown Trophy 2009/2010

In honour of Charles Brown, RHET are proud to launch the “Charles Brown Trophy”. This is a peripatetic award for Scotland, which will be presented in its first year to the school within the Royal Northern Countryside Initiative (RNCI) area who have submitted the best project based on their experiences of an RNCI/RHET Farm Visit.

This competition is aimed at school classes, of children aged 5-18years, who have taken part in a Farm Visit with RNCI/RHET.

The competition asks pupils to create a project to show how the class have experienced and learnt from their Farm Visit.  This can be illustrated in any way they choose (i.e. stories, a collage, short film, Power Point presentation etc).

Prize:  The Charles Brown Trophy and transport costs to a local show or farm for the winning class.
