RHET Forth Valley Countryside Initiative hosted a fundraising Afternoon Tea at Airth Castle Hotel on Sunday 10th April.
The lifting of Covid restrictions allowing children to return to farms has been great timing for spring time visits. It has been fabulous to see some of the wee ones enjoying their first ever bus trips, having been confined to their own covid bubbles for 2 years.

We are delighted that Border Machinery Ring (BMR) have generously supported RHET Borders with funding to contribute to the cost of buses for farm visits.
RHET Scottish Borders Countryside Initiative saw the majority of the 1200 primary 5 children, from all over the Scottish Borders Council area, attend the brilliant Countryside Day. Organised by The Border Union Agricultural Society, Countryside Day promotes food, farming, the rural sector and the countryside.
In May, RHET Borders arranged for S3 pupils from Berwickshire Highs chool to visit Whitsome East Newton Farm to learn about the work Alistair and Marianne Hodge are doing there as part of the Crop Mixtures Project being run in conjunction with the Hutton Institute.
The Berry Schools Project is a recent addition to the RHET ACI suite of activity and its delivery has been badly affected by COVID as the pilot year was 2019.
RHET ACI was one of the first CIsto start delivering Estate Days back in 2007 and it is a format that we have found really popular, not only with our schools but also with our volunteers.
