Bank sponsors trip to dairy farm

Clydesdale Bank sponsored a Dumfries primary school’s educational visit to a local dairy farm.

St Ninian’s Primary School from Dumfries visited Crochmore Farm near Crocketford last week, along with Eileen Hornell and David Rowe representing the Agribusiness team from the Clydesdale Bank.  Local RHET farmer, Angus Kerr, led the visit around his farm, even rearranging milking time to tie in with the class visit!

The class of 20 P4 pupils saw cows being milked, bottle fed calves and learned about the crops that are grown on the farm.  The freezing temperatures failed to hamper the pupils having a fun, educational and memorable trip to the farm.

RHET Project Coordinator Fiona Jamieson commented, “We are extremely grateful to the Clydesdale Bank for supporting this educational visit as part of our new scheme “Sponsor a Farm Visit”.  It was clear that the class had a great morning on farm and the Bank sponsorship was greatly appreciated.

RHET is indebted to the invaluable outdoor learning experience provided by volunteer farmers like Angus Kerr and his family at Crochmore Farm.”
