Hungarian Children’s Choir visit RHET Host Farm

Littleton Farm near Gatehouse of Fleet hosted an unusual RHET visit, with 45 young people representing the Vox Luventutis Children’s Choir from Debrecen in Hungary arriving on farm. Although not the first time the venue has held farm visits for children via The Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET), this is a first for RHET and host farmer Robert Dodds to have foreign visitors singing in a cow cubicle shed!

Organised through the Dumfries & Kirkcudbright Presbytery, this group of talented young people were staying in the local area with families within the Presbytery. During their short stay in Scotland, the Choir gave performances at 3 churches in the area.

After a tour of the state-of-the-art dairy facilities at Littleton farm, the morning visit was topped off with an amazing recital by the Choir, with an audience of dairy cows in the cubicle shed! After a busy year for RHET in Dumfries & Galloway, we definitely finished off our farm visits on a “high note”!”

The event was televised by ITV Border.
