Gala Fundraising Event Raises £40,000 for Rural Education Charity

The Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) welcomed 200 people on Saturday 2nd March to celebrate its 25th birthday, raising over £40,000 in the process which will go towards RHET’s charitable purpose.

Since 1999, the Royal Highland Education Trust has worked with dedicated volunteers to provide an opportunity for every child in Scotland to learn about food, farming, and the countryside and to create a wider understanding of the environmental, economic and social realities of rural Scotland.

The £40,000 raised at the RHET Gala will directly support the charity’s vital work in delivering educational programs, resources, and experiences to children and young people throughout Scotland. Through initiatives such as farm visits, classroom sessions, and hands-on learning activities, RHET is empowering the next generation with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand more about their food production and the rural community.

"We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown at this year's RHET Gala," said Katrina Barclay, Executive Officer of RHET. "The funds raised will enable us to continue our mission of inspiring and educating young people about the importance of rural life and agriculture.

“The work of RHET would simply not be possible without our tireless and dedicated volunteers and supporters. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to making this event a resounding success.
