Food underpins society. As the recent pandemic has demonstrated, appreciating and understanding food – the journey it takes to get to the plate, how to utilise it effectively and developing a knowledge of food sustainability are vitally important.
Our training, through the provision of up to date information, provides the opportunity to reflect and develop personal connections to the complexities of our food system. We touch on health and wellbeing, science, technology and geography. We all need to eat and food is a component of life which crosses boundaries and is truly interdisciplinary.
Our professional learning involves tackling current issues through providing practitioners with information, together with the opportunities to gain knowledge and expand pedagogies through experiencing industry and/or undertaking classroom activities, utilising virtual and face to face opportunities.
A full list of all our training opportunities is provided below – please note you can scroll up and down as well as left to right.
Our e-learning academy contains learning modules on local environments, plant and grow, the journey of food and cooking in school.
There are also learning workbooks for you to record your work as you go, a wide range of teaching resources and ideas for teaching food, farming and the countryside.
